Greetings to all!
The moment we’ve been waiting for has arrived! Rad Music International is thrilled to announce our Cultural Event of Human Beings, taking place on Friday, September 9th, from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM at Tsamakia Beach.
This event marks a significant milestone for us, aiming to unite people from all walks of life – refugees, locals, and international volunteers – through a diverse range of activities. We’ve curated an evening that promises a memorable experience for everyone:
– Delve into the world of Traditional Food (Afghan, African, Arabic, Iranian, Greek) as we showcase the richness of cultures through cuisine.
– Engage in enlightening “Refugees Talks 1922-2022,” where we reflect on history and discuss the present and future of refugee situations.
– Immerse yourselves in the world of theater, where stories and narratives come to life.
– Feel the rhythm and energy of Dance (Afghan, African, Greek), embodying the spirit of cultural exchange.
– Experience the captivating sounds of Music, encompassing Jazz Music and Rad Music International’s unique melodies.
Through these diverse activities, we aspire to make a lasting impact by bringing people together, fostering positive and creative intercultural interactions. Our ultimate goal is to facilitate the integration of refugees into the society of Mytilene, creating a lasting bridge between communities.
We value the testimony of refugees who have been part of Lesvos and can speak about their first experiences of integration. This event serves as a landmark occasion, where individuals step out of the confines of Moria or Mavrovouni and engage in interactions that transcend borders.
Our mission goes beyond the surface; we aim to shed new light on the dialogue about the refugee situation and propose viable solutions for the future. It’s a poignant reminder that a refugee could be anyone – there are no specific criteria. Today, it might be someone else, but history has shown that tomorrow, it could be any of us. Thus, the way we choose to embrace those seeking refuge from conflict or persecution carries immense significance.
This year holds added significance as we commemorate one hundred years since the Asian Minor Disaster (1922-2022). Join us as we collectively honor history, connect through cultures, and pave the way for a more inclusive and compassionate world.
Your presence is a testament to our shared commitment to unity and understanding. Let’s come together, learn from one another, and shape a brighter future.
