Ladies and gentlemen, good evening,
We gather here today with immense joy and significance as we commemorate World Refugee Day, a day that holds a special place in the journey of RAD Music International, as it marks the very day of our creation.
Amid the headlines and media coverage, let us not forget the countless refugees who continue to endure unimaginable hardships, struggling to find safety, security, and a better life. In this sea of challenges, it’s hard to fathom that the waters that surround us have claimed so many lives – children, women, and men seeking refuge.
RAD Music, standing for Refugees African Dance, was born with a purpose – to bridge the gaps between cultures. We are a platform that brings together refugees, locals, and volunteers through cultural activities, fostering integration through language, art, and education.
The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped our world, altering every facet of life as we knew it. It didn’t discriminate, affecting all corners of the globe regardless of race, borders, or background. We were united by a common experience that changed us all.
Similarly, music is a universal language, one that unites rather than divides. It transcends borders and barriers, touching the hearts of people everywhere. Just as the virus circulated globally, music connects us beyond boundaries.
RAD Music consciously chose the path of music as a way to spread positivity and unity. Music is beyond the constraints of paperwork, borders, or discrimination. It heals, uplifts, and resonates with the love that binds us all.
In these times, we find solace and strength in music, and in our collective humanity. Let us continue to be a force for change, for understanding, and for compassion. As we remember those who are still seeking refuge and those who have lost their lives on this journey, let us stand together to create a world where love, hope, and harmony prevail.
Thank you.
